We were made in God's image. How awesome is that!?
So much about us, about people gives us a glimpse of God's heart and character. Even the tiniest cells in our physical body loudly proclaim that He is God. Like laminin, stand in awe of God by watching the video.
And not only our physical bodies displays the glory of God, so does ouir inner being, our soul- our mind, will and emotions. They also can be a reflection of God's heart and character. Like when I read some of my favorite blogs like Don Brewster's  he helps me see God as the Hope Bringer and the Rescuer. Ann Voskamp  reminds me of God's Grace and Beauty and Shaun Groves helps me see God's Honor and Wisdom. His Passion for the lost through Eternity Impact, His Servant-Heartedness through people like Equipping for EMinistry and 1+1+1=1.

What a gift that God has made us in His image and put us right smack in front of each other, because right perspective leaks. It is so easy to get so focused on ourselves and on our circumstances, so focused on the here and now to the point we don't see God.

Just like I read today in 2 Sam. 2:8-9. After Saul and Jonothan die, Abner makes Ish-Bosheth King. Gotta give him credit for his initative, but God had appointed David to be the next king yet here is Abner taking initative to build his own kingdom. Let me just say that if I were alive then and knew David was suppose to be the next king, I would be worrying that things werent working out quite right.

But God is not worried thinking, "Oh no! Abner is setting up Ish-Bosheth as King of  Judah before I did. Now I can't make David king."  That just sounds ridiculous, yet that is totally how I would feel!  When I think of it this way, recognizing what worry shows me I am believing about God my foolishness is exposed and I am driven to my knees in humility. And it shows me how quick I can get my eyes fixed on circumstances and driven to worry instead of keeping my eyes fixed on Christ and reminding myself to believe whats true about Him.

Oh Lord, thank you for putting people, your image-bearers right in front of our face. Oh Lord, open our eyes to see You, Your heart, Your character. Show us Your glory Lord. Like Max Lucado says, “Flex your biceps. Let me see the S on your chest. Your preeminence. Your heart-stopping, ground-shaking extra-spectacularness. Would you stun me with your strength? Numb me with your wisdom? Steal my breath with a brush of yours?” And Lord, let us be reflections of You. We can do nothing eternal apart from You, so we yield and ask that You would do it through us. Give others a glimpse of You through us.

Hi Laura! It's so good to be here again - bragging on our awesome God!
I've been browsing through your recent articles and I came upon your post about the Word which reminded me of the one I wrote last Monday and which I linked it up today. Yours is so complete, detailed, and it's really so interesting to know and learn the important details that you've included, like the comparison with Science facts. You've compiled everything carefully and with so much labor of love! Praise God!

Wishing you and your beautiful family a blessed weekend,
Rina

I love bragging on God and how He works through others. And I love reading what He is doing for others. I enjoyed the video clip. God couldn't have created us more beautifully--in His image!

Blessings on your Friday,
Pamela

I often get limited by my earthly perspective. I try to "help" God out when I feel He needs it. Talk about being humbled when I realize that perhaps, um, God didn't need my help accomplishing "x" because He was really planning for "y."

If I can get outside myself, though, and focus on Him and being grateful for the moment, things go much more smoothly.

Laura, This is so awesome! I got to attend an "If Our God Is For Us" Chris Tomlin concert a few months ago and Louie Giglio spoke...it was such a blessing. Hearing about laminin blew me away! I'm not sure why, because when I think about it, it makes perfect sense that God would put little crosses inside us, after all, He can do anything...He is God! Everywhere we look, and even the places unseen by the human eye point to Jesus. How great is our God!!

There is no need to hang our head, to shuffle our feet, to walk bedraggled. We are the Kings Kids and we should stand tall - he's got our back!

It still amazes me that God made us in HIS image. What an awesome honor.

I like your example of an unworried God! And you make a good point: worry = not trusting that God has all plans in His hand.

Thanks for linking up, Laura!

Laura,
Just found out that we share a friend! Lindy A. Yes, yes, she is a favorite friend, and when she emailed me the link to your blog, I thought it was funny because I have been here before.

Anyway, I didn't know about your "Brag on God Fridays" so it was fun to click over and get a better picture of your space in the blogosphere.

Wow, what a great way to brag on God. I am always amazed at how intricate the human body is and then when you consider the soul, it is just completely mind boggling. Only God could have designed us the way we are.
Blessings,
Charlotte
