Have you ever started memorizing a chunk of Scripture but just couldn't finish? Have you ever had the intention of sharing the gospel with someone but just never got around to it? Have you ever not known how to answer the question, "What is God teaching you?" because you couldn't remember what you had just read in His Word?
Well, if you said "Yes" to any of those questions I am grateful that I am not alone and Grown Together might be a helpful place for you. The purpose of the site is to be a connecting place for women who want to grow in their relationship with God. We grow as we are connected to others who encourage and push us on toward the things God has called us to. When we do things in community, and hear the up's and down's of others, we grow in healthy way.
It seems there are at least three areas many women desire to be consistent in but find it a struggle.
The 3 elements:
Evangelism
Connecting With God Daily
Memorizing Scripture
You can particpate in one, two or all three categories. For whichever category you choose to participate in, you just leave a comment sharing about how it went that week for you. Some weeks will be great and others will not. We grow the most, when we live open and vulnerable in a community of believers and see that we are all still accepted by our Gracious Father and by each other even with our failures exposes.
Grown Together is not a site for perfect people who have it all together. Rather a place, a community for weak ladies with a Sufficient God. A place for women who desire to grow in spiritual disciplines and would benefit from accountablilty.
Will you consider doing the Grown Together Challenge? The challenge is to make 3 goals (1 for each element) and do it for 3 months staring September 1st, next Thursday. If you are not ready for the Grown Together Challenge, that is absolutely ok. Go ahead and participate in any of the elements you would like. And if you are looking for resouces or tips on how to do a certain element you'll find that under each tab.
Sharing the gospel, having a quiet time and memorizing Scripture are important, really important. But ultimately all of this is about the glory of God. About living out our purpose of displaying God's heart to the world around us. These elements are not the end, they are the means to walk out our God given purpose.
